A CONVICTED sex offender ignored a judge’s repeated warnings that he must tell police where he was living.
Howard Butcher, 55, of Hemingway, South Shore, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a condition of his Sex Offender’s Registration Order and notify police of his address within three days.
He was fined £110 with £85 costs and the £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said Butcher was convicted at Preston Crown Court of five offences of historical serious sexual assault on two females on August 24 this year. He has not yet been sentenced.
Judge Philip Sycamore twice told Butcher he had been put on the Sex Offender’s Register and must notify the police of his address.
He failed to register with police and was arrested on September 11.
Ashley Fisher, defending, said at the time Butcher had been in the process of moving house. His mother, who lived in Stockport, became ill and he had to travel to see her.
