A man accused of murdering the father of a missing teenager has appeared in court.
Sean Conlon, 43, of no fixed address, is charged with murdering Frank Chivers on August 16.
Appearing at Preston Crown Court yesterday Conlon’s case was adjourned for trial.
He did not to enter a plea.
His trial will now take place on February 3 and is estimated to last for seven days.
Conlon was remanded in custody by Judge Anthony Russell QC.
Carly Turner, 28, of Camden Road, Layton pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice by knowingly providing a false statement to police.
She was also remanded in custody until February 3.
Frank Chivers was found collapsed with a head injury at his home in Walter Robinson Court, Layton.
His daughter Paige, 15, disappeared six years ago.
