A motorist who drove on the wrong side of a traffic island was more than twice over the alcohol limit.
Jack Beavers, 23, of Knowle Avenue, Cleveleys, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
He was banned from the road for 17 months and fined £160 with £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Martine Connah, prosecuting, said police saw Beavers in a Vauxhall Astra driving on the wrong side of a traffic island on Blackpool Old Road, on October 11 at 1.45am.
A breath test showed 77 micrograms of alcohol in his body – 35 is the limit.
Beavers told magistrates that he had let himself and his family down and he apologised for what he had done.
He added that he had lost his job as a plumber because of the offence, as his employment involved working out of town.
