A man caught smoking and hiding heroin in his police cell has been ordered to take a drug rehabilitation course.
Carl Rainford was caught smoking the drug after detention officers became suspicious when they saw smoke coming out of cell 22 at Blackpool Central police station.
When he was searched Rainford was found to have five packets of heroin hidden between the cheeks of his buttocks.
Rainford, unemployed, 40, formerly of Empire House, Preston, now living in Reads Avenue, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and theft from a shop.
He was sentenced to 12 months supervision and ordered to do a six months drugs rehabilitation course by Blackpool magistrates.
