Blackpool Magistrates Court

A man swung a punch at his wife after hearing she had a relationship with another man while he was away.

Stuart Green, 36, of Livingston Road, Blackpool, admitted assault through the apprehension of violence.

He was sentenced to six months supervision and ordered to pay £50 costs with £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Jane Yates, prosecuting, said Green and his wife were in the Auctioneer pub, Lytham Road, on November 27 at 11.55pm when they had a row and he swung a punch at her which missed.

The pub’s deputy manager asked Green to leave but he refused and offered to fight him.

Green then swung at a customer.

Martin Hillson, defending, said before they went out Green’s wife told him she had been involved in a short-term relationship with a man.
