A man has been left with a “nasty” cut to his wrist after being attacked with a knife.

The 38-year-old man, from Blackpool, was left with a deep cut to his right wrist after an altercation with two others on Cheltenham Road, in the Claremont area of North Shore, at around 8.45pm on Saturday.

Two men, aged 31 and 50, both from the resort, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Det Sgt Mark Dickinson, from Blackpool CID, said: “The victim suffered a deep, nasty wound to his wrist which will need stitches and which could have proven to be much more serious.

“I’d expect there to have been a lot of noise on the street at the time and we’d be very interested to speak to anyone who saw what happened.

“Weapons have been recovered and a thorough investigation is underway.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
