A man returned home from drinking with a friend and assaulted his partner.

She wanted to sleep because she was working the following day but Shaun Singleton would not keep quiet.

The man banged wood on the floor and then banged a frying pan on the kitchen work top.

Singleton, 24, of Cavendish Road, Bispham, admitted assaulting the woman.

He also admitted causing criminal damage to a door at her home.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, told Blackpool Magistrates’ Court Singleton was drunk and kicked through a glass door.

He then grabbed hold of the mother-of-four by her upper arms.

Singleton was bailed by magistrates so pre-sentence reports can be prepared on him.

Robert Castle, defending, said his client accepted what he had done and offered his deep regret.
