POLICE investigating a gunpoint hold-up at a Blackpool bank have arrested a man.

A masked raider burst into the Royal Bank of Scotland on Red Bank Road, Bispham, and threatened a woman behind the counter with a black handgun before demanding cash.

Customers were in the bank at the time of the raid which happened at 2pm on August 8.

The robber then fled the bank and ran off south down the Promenade with an undisclosed amount of money.

A Lancashire Police spokesman confirmed: “A 25 year old man from Manchester has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“He will now be questioned by officers.”
