Man punched in club attack

Flamingo Club, Blackpool

Flamingo Club, Blackpool

A CLUBBER suffered a broken cheekbone after an unprovoked attack in a Blackpool nightclub.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses after the 23-year-old man was attacked “without warning” in The Flamingo club.

The victim was standing on the nightclub’s top floor in the early hours of the morning when he was approached by four men.

One of the men then punched him in the face, in what police have described as a “nasty assault”.

The man suffered a broken cheekbone and was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery.

Now, police want anyone who was in the Queen Street club between the hours of 3.30am and 4am on Friday and may have witnessed the attack or the people involved, to come forward.

Det Con Phil Palmer said: “This was a nasty assault and we need to find the person responsible.

“If you were in the club around the time of the incident and think you may have information which could help our inquiry then please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.

Alternatively, witnesses are asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or go online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
