Detectives are appealing for information after a 32-year-old man was found with serious head injuries outside a hotel in Blackpool.
The man, who is not thought to be local, was found by members of the public around 3.30am on Sunday outside the Kensington Hotel on South Promenade, where he was a guest.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance where he was placed into an induced coma. Doctors today described his condition as critical.
Police are appealing for two men who were in the company of the victim prior to him being found to come forward.
Both are described as being white, one is of slim build and was wearing a blue top, while the other is muscular, with a bald head and was wearing a white T-shirt.
Det Con Ellie Heaney, of Blackpool CID said: “We are trying to establish exactly how this man has come about his injuries.
“At the moment we are keeping an open mind and are keen to hear from anybody who can assist our investigation.
“We are particularly keen to speak with two men who sat the victim on a bench outside the Kensington Hotel prior to him being found. If this was you please get in touch.”
The owner of The Kensington Hotel confirmed the man was a guest at his hotel but said he had been asleep when the incident happened.
Anybody with information should call police on 101.
