A FATHER has appeared in court charged with murder.

Jack Tindall, a dad of one, is accused of murdering 46-year-old James Whitelaw.

Mr Whitelaw, of Caunce Street, central Blackpool, died in Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, five days after he was discovered with serious head injuries in an alleyway behind Regent Road in the town.

Tindall, 21, of Bedford Road, was charged with murder on Friday and appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court for a brief one minute hearing this morning.

He sobbed as he was told he would be remanded in custody and his case heard before Preston Crown Court on Wednesday.
