Two men confronted each other, one of them armed with a seven inch kitchen knife and the other with a two foot long Samurai sword, Blackpool Magistrates’ Court was told.
Before the court yesterday was one of the duo, 56-year-old Andrew Robert Brook.
Brook, of Station Road, Blackpool, is charged with causing an affray and possessing a knife in a public place.
Magistrates heard that Brook was arrested following an alleged incident in Haig Road.
The court ruled his cases must be heard at Preston Crown Court.
He was remanded in custody by magistrates and will appear at the higher court on October 1.
