A man accused of the multiple rape of a woman over a period of 20 years has made his first appearance in court.
Karl Lawrence is alleged to have repeatedly raped the woman from her being under the age of 16, in January 1994, to June last year.
Lawrence, 58, of Armitstead Court, Fleetwood, faces 19 charges of rape.
Prosecutor Martine Connah’s application for the case to be heard at crown court was not opposed by defence lawyer Allan Cobain.
Lawrence was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on December 3 by District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
