A man was knocked out by thugs who stamped on his head in a town centre attack.
The 51-year-old was walking with his son along Queen Street, near to Flames takeaway, when they were approached by two other men at around 2.50am on Sunday.
They started arguing, before one of the men punched the victim, who was from Anchorsholme, causing him to fall to the ground.
Other men became involved and the man had his head stamped on, knocking him unconscious.
He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital for treatment.
PC Claire Van Deurs Goss said: “This was an incredibly violent incident and we absolutely need to find the people responsible. The man is fortunate he didn’t suffer any lasting damage given the level of violence which was used towards him.
“There is a chance the people involved are not from Blackpool, but I would ask anyone who thinks they can identify anybody in the CCTV to contact police.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
