Man found guilty of robbery charge

A man has been found guilty of the robbery of two young victims.

Paul Sproat, 28, of Abbey Road, South Shore, was found guilty by the majority verdict of a jury at Preston Crown Court yesterday.

He was bailed to appear before the court again on May 22, to be sentenced for the robbery along with two burglaries.

Sproat was found guilty of “robbery involving two young complainants with a lot of aggravating features” on March 7, 2013.

He will also be sentenced for two further incidents.

On March 12, 2013, he was involved in a burglary of Blackpool Pleasure Beach which caused thousands of pounds of damage and saw hundreds of pounds stolen.

And on March 13, 2013, he was involved in a burglary of an amusement arcade, which also caused thousands of pounds of damage and saw hundreds of pounds stolen.
