A man got behind the wheel of a car only 11 days after being disqualified from driving.
Simon Rady was taking his mother’s Mini to be valeted when he said a van pulled out and he crashed into a parked car after swerving.
Rady, 26, of Brook Street, Marton, a former spring manufacturer, pleaded guilty to driving while banned without insurance and failing to stop and to report an accident.
He was sentenced to 14 weeks’ prison suspended for 12 months with up to 20 days’ rehabilitation, banned from the road for two years and ordered to pay £300 compensation by Blackpool magistrates.
When interviewed by police, Rady said he did not know he had previously been disqualified from driving. He apologised for what had happened.
