Police have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of rape after a serious sexual assault in a Blackpool park.
A 15-year-old girl was attacked by a man who started talking to her as she walked along Claremont Road near Devonshire Road between 8.45pm and 11.30pm on Friday.
The pair walked together through Claremont Park, where the man forced her towards some goalposts in the park and subjected her to the assault.
Det Chief Insp Andy Gilbert, of Lancashire Police, said: “This was a terrifying incident for the young girl involved and she is now being supported by specially trained officers.
“An investigation is now underway and I would appeal to anybody who has any information about this incident to come forward.”
