A MAN has admitted assaulting his wife after they rowed over their power supply.

Shop-fitter David Furnell, of Meadow Crescent, Wesham, pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife at their home when he appeared before Blackpool Magistrates Court.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said Furnell was arrested after he punched his wife twice to the face.

He also threatened to throw clothes out into the street.

She said: “She was going to cook some food but her husband went into the cup-board under the stairs and said he was cutting off the power.

“He then hit her twice.”

Steven Duffy, defending, said: “There are problems with both parties and alcohol.”

Furnell was bailed until November 27 for reports to be compiled on him by the Probation Service.
