A PENSIONER driver has made his first appearance at court accused of killing an 87-year-old woman pedestrian at Kirkham.
Carlton Terry, 84, of Ferrier Bank, Warton, is charged with causing the death of Gwennie Dean by careless driving.
The offence is alleged to have taken place when Terry was driving a Nissan Micra along Poulton Street, Kirkham, on August 8 last year.
Mrs Dean, who had lived in Kirkham for many years, was involved in a collision as she crossed the street to The Queen Arms Pub at around 2pm.
She was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital with serious head injuries but later died of her injuries.
Defence lawyer, Steven Townley, yesterday asked for an adjournment to go through legal papers with his client.
>> The case against Terry was adjourned to Tuesday February 14 by District Judge Jeff Brailsford sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
