A 26-year-old Blackpool man has been arrested in connection with an attack which left another man fighting for his life in hospital.
The Gazette told how 25-year-old Reece Roberts, from Layton, had been left with head injuries after he was punched in Queen Street, Blackpool.
He was knocked unconscious causing him to hit his head on the pavement.
The incident happened at around 1.30am on Friday.
The Blackpool and The Fylde College student is currently being treated for serious head injuries at Royal Preston Hospital – a specialist neurological unit.
His condition is described as “critical”.
Police confirmed last night a 26-year-old man from the Blackpool area had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was last night in custody being interviewed by detectives.
