A professional magician sexually molested a woman taxi driver as she drove him home from a party.

Matthew Rooker was described as a young star on the global stage who had been a member of group Take That’s world tour and had opened Dancing on Ice.

At a party, Rooker drank champagne and a bottle of vodka to celebrate getting a new job at a prestigious venue abroad.

Rooker, 21, of North Promenade, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to sexually touching a 29-year-old woman.

He was bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court for sentence on August 29. Claire Harris, prosecuting, said Rooker’s friends put him in a taxi at Preesall and asked the driver to take him to his home address on June 8 at 7.50pm. Rooker immediately gave the driver £40 and she told him it was probably too much for the fare.

During the journey he kept throwing £20 notes on the dashboard and asking her for oral sex. He touched her breast and inner thigh.

Trevor Colebourne, defending, said his client was horrified when told what had taken place.
