A learner driver was behind the wheel of a Motability vehicle while over the alcohol limit, a court was told.
Jacqueline Topping, 45, of Jackson Street, Layton, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol and not in accordance with her provisional licence.
She was bailed to provide details of her insurance by District Judge Meirion Lewis-Jones, who was sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court. She was also banned from driving in the meantime.
The judge was told Topping had been driving a Kia Ceed on Talbot Road on April 18. A breath test showed 48 micrograms of alcohol in her body – 35 is the limit.
Patrick Nelligan, defending, said Topping, who had been driving a Mobility car, did not realise there were no L-plates on the vehicle.
