A labourer helping with building work at a Blackpool hotel took two cases of alcohol from the premises and then drove off with it in a guest’s Jaguar.
Christopher Holgate, 29, of Westmorland Avenue, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to burglary, taking a car without consent and driving without insurance or a licence.
He was sentenced to 56 days in prison by Blackpool magistrates who also put six penalty points on his driving licence.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said on October 3 Holgate was helping a relative with building work at the Dudley Hotel.
Overnight two crates, one of lager the other of cider, were taken from an outbuilding at the hotel and a guest’s Jaguar went missing from the car park.
The car was found outside Holgate’s address with a case of lager on the back seat.
Steven Townley, defending, said Holgate had no explanation for what he did.
