Jealous nurse punched woman

Blackpool Magistrates Court

Blackpool Magistrates Court

A STUDENT nurse saw red when she believed a woman was having sex with her boyfriend.

Kirsty Fletcher, 25, of Poulton Old Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to assault after confronting the women.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said Fletcher was at home on March 12 when her partner, who had been drinking, had gone to bed and left two other women downstairs.

Fletcher and one of the women went to buy alcohol and when she arrived home she thought another woman was having sex when she heard noises.

The woman said she had been drunk and tired but she and the boyfriend were in bed fully dressed and sleeping.

Steven Townley, defending, said Fletcher punched the woman when she felt provoked.

She was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay her victim £50 compensation plus the £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
