A baby taken to hospital with serious head injuries is now in the care of a foster family.

The eight-week old baby boy was taken to Royal Preston Hospital from a house on Auster Crescent, Freckleton with what paramedics described as “life threatening” injuries on May 29.

Police later said he was in a serious but stable condition.

A Lancashire Police spokesman today confirmed the baby had been released from hospital and was being cared for by a foster family.

A 20-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, both from the Liverpool area, were arrested on suspicion of wounding.

They have been released on police bail to July 10.
