A burglar dressed in sports clothes raided the Blackpool Football Club hotel and got away with a small haul including three tea bags.

Sean Woods also stole a hairdryer in the spree after “succumbing to temptation”.

But he was chased and tracked down by the manager of the hotel on Bloomfield Road, South Shore, and then arrested in a nearby takeaway.

Woods, 25, of Parkside, Wallasey, pleaded guilty to burglary and was bailed to April 9 by Blackpool magistrates when he will be sentenced at Wirral Magistrates’ Court.

Prosecuting, Harold Smith said on February 25 at 9.30pm the manager of the Blackpool Football Club hotel was informed two men dressed in sports clothes were acting suspiciously in the premises.

The manager viewed the hotel CCTV and saw Woods and another man trying bedroom doors on the third floor.

The manager then saw the duo run out of the hotel.

He followed and alerted police after spotting them go into a nearby takeaway.

Defending, Steven Townley said Woods had gone into the hotel and succumbed to temptation.
