THE prosecution of a man accused of assaulting Scottish football legend Colin Hendry still cannot go ahead.
Hector McFarlane is charged with assaulting Hendry on June 15 last year in a bar in Lytham.
The 63-year-old is further accused of assaulting Mr Hendry’s eldest daughter, Rheaghan, on the same date and at the same venue.
The accused’s wife Williamina McFarlane, also 63, is charged with harassing Miss Hendry ‘causing her alarm and distress’.
The McFarlane’s live in South Holme, Lytham.
Former Scottish captain and Premier League star Hendry and his family live in the same seaside town.
The McFarlane’s did not attend the second hearing of their cases at Blackpool Magistrates Court yesterday.
The court heard that it was believed the couple were on a long term trip to Thailand and Lancashire Police had been talking to their British lawyer about the date of their return.
The allegations against the duo were further adjourned until February 25.
