Headbutt attack at fish and chip shop in Blackpool

A man launched an unprovoked attack and headbutted a man at the serving hatch of a fish and chip shop breaking his nose.

Terence Sutherland, who is 6ft 4ins tall, told his victim that he would not put him out if he was on fire.

Sutherland, 44, of Crest Avenue, Huddersfield, pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm. He was sentenced to a 12 months community order, ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work for the community and pay £500 compensation to his victim with £85 costs plus £60 victims’ surcharge at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court following the attack on May 2 at the hatch near Coral Island.

The victim had had surgery which was unsuccessful on his nose and needed further surgery.
