TWO men have been convicted of murder after a man’s battered body was discovered on Blackpool beach.
Leslie Bertram’s body was discovered on the sand between Central and South Pier in June.
And this morning a jury at Preston Crown Court convicted Paul Thompson and Colin Dugdale of murdering the 44-year-old.
During the two-week trial the court heard Thompson, 44, of Woodfield Road, Blackpool, and Dugdale, 27, of Chesterfield Road, Blackpool, had been spotted with their hands around Mr Bertram’s neck hours before his body was discovered.
Mr Bertram suffered head and neck injuries in the assault.
Thompson and Dugdale were jailed for life by the judge, and will each serve a minimum of 14 years.
