A grandfather was caught at the wheel over the limit after an anonymous tip-off to police.
Sidney Swarbrick, 70, of Belvedere Road, Thornton, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
He was disqualified from driving for 17 months and fined £110 with £40 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
A breath test showed 60 micrograms of alcohol – 35 is the limit.
Gerry Coyle, defending, said his client, who had no previous convictions, had been in the Golden Ball pub, Poulton.
Swarbrick thought he had probably had three pints of lager, the court was told.
His medication had been changed, he had a stomach problem and had not eaten. Mr Coyle added.
