A grandfather who had recently been released from prison was arrested after committing car crime.
Joseph O’Donohue, 45, of Canberra Way, Warton, pleaded guilty to stealing a satellite navigation system from one car and interfering with another.
He was sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay £80 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, said O’Donohue targeted two cars parked on Balmoral Road, St Annes, stealing from one and rummaging through the other on June 18. The prosecutor said O’Donohue had 55 previous convictions. In January he had been sentenced to eight months jail for car crimes.
Mitch Sarangi, defending, said his client had only been out of prison about a month.
O’Donohue was adamant he was going to get help for his drink and drugs problem.
