A former friend of the hotel barman accused of stabbing to death a 16-year-old girl, told a jury she was also lured to the hotel for sex.
Kimberley Fazackerly told Preston Crown Court via a live video link that David Minto, the man accused of murdering former Collegiate High School pupil Sasha Marsden, left her “frightened and scared” after making unwanted sexual advances towards her during a visit to the Grafton House Hotel in South Shore.
The court heard Miss Fazackerly had met 22-year-old Minto at Mysercough College in 2006 and they had been in regular contact as friends for some time via text message, calls and Facebook.
Prosecutors said Minto had sent Miss Fazackerly many messages over Facebook requesting her to visit him at the Rigby Road hotel, despite knowing she had a boyfriend.
Miss Fazackerly, who is partially deaf in both ears, said: “In 2012, David got in contact on Facebook and he said he had a hotel in Blackpool.
“He said he ran it with his girlfriend Rachel and her mum. He said he owned the hotel.
“I did visit the hotel on one occasion and David gave me a tour showing me the bar, his and Rachel’s room, Rachel’s mum’s room and Rachel’s brother’s room.
“After that we went into Rachel and David’s room and sat on the bed. I felt scared as I could feel something was going to happen.”
She told the court Minto touched her inappropriately.
“I told him to get off but he didn’t get off straight away,” she said. “I told him again and he got the message. I was very frightened. I left and went straight home.”
The court heard it was Miss Fazackerly, who introduced Minto to Sasha Marsden on one single occasion before her death on January 31, this year.
She said she had met Sasha at Coral Island amusements in Blackpool town centre when she had also plans to meet David. The trio spent time together before walking to meet Minto’s girlfriend.
Miss Fazackerly said after the incident in the hotel she never went back and she ignored any further Facebook messages from Minto.
Minto, 22, is accused of stabbing childcare student Sasha 58 times, before wrapping her body in bin bags, carpet underlay and bedding, then setting it on fire and dumping it in an alleyway behind the hotel. The body was discovered by neighbours a short time later.
