A ROW between neighbours culminated in a woman being punched on the back of the head.

Deborah Paton, 46, of Lightburne Avenue, St Annes, admitted assault when she appeared before Blackpool magistrates.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, said there had been confrontations between the two women due to Paton’s excessive drinking.

The assault took place when both women were in their own front gardens and Paton verbally abused the victim.

Ms Connah said: “There was then an unprovoked attack on the victim - a punch on the back of the head seen by a witness.”

Gary McAnulty, defending, said: “My client does not fit in with others in her locality and thinks she is picked on.

“She did get job but was dismissed after a couple of days and she thinks a neighbour was behind that.”

Paton was fined £50 and told to pay £20 costs.
