The gang assaulted the man – a 27-year old – and shoved him into the boot of a dark coloured Mazda in the pub’s car park.

Police say the assault continued in the car before the victim was driven a short distance.

The man said he was released and dumped at the side of the road. He was left with bruising and grazes, and was taken to hospital as a precaution. Nothing was stolen from himin the attack.

All of the suspects were white. One had a bald head, goatee beard and tattoos. The two others were in their late 20s.

Det Insp Phil Jones said: “This man has been through a traumatic experience.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Saracens pub or car park between the hours of 11pm on Friday through to the early hours of Saturday to get in touch with police.”
