CCTV revealed a man stealing computer games from the same shop three times before Christmas.
Nathan Edwards, 21, of Argosy Avenue, Grange Park, pleaded guillty to three offences of theft.
He was sentenced to do 65 hours unpaid work for the community and pay £18 compensation plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said a security officer at Blackpool’s HMV saw empty games wrappers on the floor. When the CCTV was checked Edwards was seen entering the store on December 18, 20 and 22 and each time taking two computer games valued at £36. He told police he had sold the games.
Leisa Splaine, defending, said it was coming up to Christmas and Edwards panicked and turned to crime because his father had told him to leave his home because he could not pay his way.
