Lancashire Police has confirmed a 64-year-old man from Freckleton was arrested on suspicion of rape yesterday morning before being released on bail.
The allegation relates to a 28-year-old woman, although it not clear when the offence is claimed to have taken place.
A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “A 64-year-old man from Freckleton who was arrested on Tuesday morning on suspicion of rape has been bailed until January 20 pending further enquiries.”
