Police have released this CCTV image of a man they are hunting after a woman’s bank card was used to go on a fraudulent spending spree.

Within an hour of the card being stolen by a special device fitted to a cash machine at the Post Office on Norbreck Road, Cleveleys, it was used to buy hundreds of pounds worth of booze and cigarettes.

Items bought included seven bottles of Cognac, two bottles of Jack Daniels, two bottles of vodka and 14 packets of cigarettes along with several cans of Red Bull.

Police say a skimming device was used to steal the victim’s card and security details when she the ATM on the evening of January 27.

Officers issued a warning at the time – linking the offence to a similar one committed after a cash machine on Devonshire Road, Blackpool, was targeted – but have now issued this image in a bid to track down the thief.

PC Carol White said: “We believe that a skimming device has been attached to the cash machine and whoever was responsible has gone on a spending spree with the cash card. I am very keen to trace the man pictured and urge anyone who recognises him to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101.
