An 80- year-old former public school teacher has made his first appearance in court charged with committing sex assaults on children.
Roy Ball is accused of sexually assaulting three boys while he was a member of staff at Rossall School, Fleetwood, between 1973 and 1977.
Two assaults are alleged to have taken place in Fleetwood and another in Windermere.
Ball, of Edward Road South, Clevedon, Somerset, faces 14 further allegations of possessing indecent pictures, images and a video clip.
District Judge Sam Goozee said Ball’s trial must take place at Preston Crown Court.
He bailed Ball until January 30 when he must appear at the higher court.
Conditions of bail state that Ball must not have unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16.
He must also not have access to the Internet.
