A man accused of attacking a professional singer while he was performing on stage appeared at court.

Sean McDermott is alleged to have hit the singer on the head with a wine bottle while he was singing at Ma Kelly’s in London Street, Fleetwood, on Friday.

McDermott, a 28-year-old dad-of-two, of Chatsworth Road, Fleetwood, is charged with maliciously wounding Mr Tame causing him grievous bodily harm.

He is also accused of breaching a restraining order by contacting his wife.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, opposed bail for McDermott. Defence lawyer, Steven Townley, said his client had indicated he would plead not guilty to the wounding offence.

McDermott was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on July 6 by magistrates.
