DETECTIVES investigating a series of thefts from a Blackpool college have been given five names to follow up after a Crimewatch appeal.

A thief who targeted vending machines at Blackpool and The Fylde College is being hunted by Lancashire Police, after an appeal for information on the BBC One show.

CCTV footage in the south building of the Palatine Road campus captured a man using a key to access five food and drink vending machines.

The thief stole between £500 and £700 in cash on the afternoon of February 15.

PC Matt Walters said: “We’ve had 11 new leads with five different names being put forward so we’re following up these as new lines of enquiries.”
