A father went to pick his young daughter up from a class while he was almost three times over the alcohol limit.
Darren Snee was stopped by police who saw him driving near a kerb along a road in Bispham.
Snee, 52, of Northfleet Avenue, Fleetwood, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
He was disqualified from driving for 48 months, put on 12 months supervision with a drink-impaired driver’s course, fined £140 and ordered to pay £85 costs with £60 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates who said the consequences of him driving could have been catastrophic.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said the incident happened on September 9 about 9.30pm A breath test showed 102 micrograms of alcohol in his body - 35 is the limit. Police noted that Snee had been driving to Bispham Community Centre to pick his daughter up.
