A father-of-four threatened to spit at police officers when they went to arrest him.
Damon Roberts, 46, of St Pauls Road, North Shore, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening manner.
He was given a 12 months conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £150 court charge with £40 costs plus £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Adrian Hollamby, prosecuting, said police went to Roberts address on July 12 as there had been difficulties between the defendant and his son.
As officers went to arrest him Roberts became abusive and threatened to spit at them.
Suzanne Mugford, defending, said her client had battled with an alcohol addiction for more than 30 years.
