A former teacher has been charged with historic sex offences involving three young boys.
Roy Ball, 80, is accused of indecent assault as well as making and possessing indecent photographs.
He faces three indecent assault charges relating to three separate victims, all between eight and 12-years-old.
They date back to the 1970s, when he was a teacher at Rossall School.
The charges have been made following a police investigation launched almost a year ago.
Mr Ball, who now lives on Edward Road South, in Clevedon, Somerset, also faces 14 charges relating to possession of indecent images.
The charges cover a period of time from 2009 to 2013 and in some cases relate to the most serious category of indecent images. The indecent assault charges cover a period from 1973 to 1977.
Elaine Purves, headteacher at Rossall School said: “We have been informed that a former teacher, who left the employ of the school around 40 years ago, has been charged in connection with allegations dating back to the 1970s.
“Due to the fact that the allegations date back four decades, the individual involved is not known to the school.”
The charges are the result of an investigation launched by Fleetwood CID back in November.
Mr Ball has been bailed to appear before Blackpool magistrates on October 22.
