Drunk man stole £789 of designer clothes from Blackpool store

A man stole hundreds of pounds of designer clothes from a Blackpool store.

David Teelan took the Michael Kors leather coats and gilet around the time of the anniversary of the death of his brother who had committed suicide and the death of his mother.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said a security officer checked CCTV at TK Maxx, Bank Hey Street, and saw Teelan leaving without paying for £789 of designer clothes on September 12 at 3.25pm.

Teelan told police he was so drunk everything was a blur, the court heard.

Teelan, 48, of Claremont Court, North Shore, pleaded guilty to theft.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks’ prison suspended for 12 months, put on a 12- month community order with up to 30 days’ rehabilitation and ordered to pay £85 costs by Blackpool magistrates.
