A football fan was found with drugs when he got to the turnstile at Blackpool Football Club.

Bradley Jones, 30, of Clifton Road, Porth, Mid Glamorgan, pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine.

He was fined £270 and ordered to pay £85 costs with £27 victims’ surcharge by District Judge Alan Jones sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court, who ordered the destruction of the drugs.

Chrissie Hunt, prosecuting, said Jones was stopped at the turnstile as he tried to enter the Bloomfield Road ground for Blackpool’s match against Cardiff on October 3.

A small bag of cocaine was found in his jeans.

Steven Townley, defending, said his client, a father-of-two, had come to the resort with friends to watch the football match.
