Drug user went on spate of stealing

A woman with a drug problem went on a stealing spree in Blackpool.

Frances Jones, unemployed, 41, of Lytham Road, South Shore, pleaded guilty to four offences of theft.

She was sentenced to a 12 -month community order with up to 25 days rehabilitation to be supervised by the probation service, put on six months drug rehabilitation and ordered to pay £78 compensation with £85 costs plus £85 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Prosecutor, Andrew Robinson, said Jones took a £19 steam cleaner from B and M Bargains on August 18 and the following day went to the same store and stole two bottles of vodka worth £13.

On August 29 she took nine packs of steak and 12 packs of ham valued at £38 from Tesco and the next day returned to the same shop for chicken.
