A factory worker was almost three times over the alcohol limit when police pulled him over.
Jamie Bickett, 36, of Glenfield Avenue, Bispham, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
He was disqualified from driving for two years, fined £280 with £85 costs and a £28 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Martine Connah, prosecuting, said police on Bispham Road saw Bickett, who was behind them, go wide on a bend on May 25 at 11.45pm.
A breath test showed 94 micrograms of alcohol in his body - 35 is the limit. Kathryn Jamieson-Sinclair, defending, said Bickett had been at his girlfriend’s home drinking lager.
She was out and they had a row by text.
On her return she threw him out. Bickett decided to drive as he needed the car for work next day.
