A MAN had no recollection of making a 10 mile journey and then committing an unprovoked attack.

Ryan Wilson, 29, had gone out drinking in Fleetwood, but then later in the evening found himself in Blackpool town centre.

There he punched his 40-year-old victim repeatedly in the face.

The man had been in Blackpool with his partner and child celebrating a family birthday.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting at Blackpool Magistrates Court, said Wilson’s victim ended up unconscious in the hospital.

Wilson, of Rosemede Avenue, Marton, admitted assault.

Steve Duffy, defending, said that Wilson had a good work ethic but could not cope with alcohol.

The lawyer added: “He does not know how he got from Fleetwood to Blackpool and cannot remember this serious assault.”

Wilson was give a three month jail term, suspended for a year, and a three month curfew.
