A man was arrested after causing a disturbance outside a Blackpool bar.
Lee MacNeil refused to calm down and then started spitting in the direction of police officers.
MacNeil, 42, of Newcastle Avenue, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
Philip Potter, prosecuting, told Blackpool magistrates that MacNeil was causing problems outside Crazy Scot’s Bar, Rigby Road, on New Year’s Day.
An officer pushed him backwards, but he refused to calm down.
He was arrested and began spitting at officers.
Suzanne Mugford, defending, said MacNeil had split up from his partner and was at a low ebb.
MacNeil was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs plus £15 victims’ surcharge by magistrates.
