Detectives investigating the alleged murder of a Blackpool schoolgirl are awaiting the forensic results from their latest search.

Seven members of the police’s Crime Scene Investigation unit spent last week searching a flat in All Hallows Road, Bispham, close to the area of the last corroborated sighting of 15-year-old Paige Chivers.

Officers in protective suits carried out a search of the derelict property just a week after police offered a £30,000 reward for information.

Det Chief Insp Mark Rothwell said: “Inquiries and examinations are still continuing and we have had some responses from the public, which we thank people for.

“We are evaluating the findings and examining them to see if there is anything in connection with Paige’s disappearance.”

Paige was just 15 when she left the family home in Longford Avenue, Bispham, after an argument with her father, on August 23, 2007.

The former Montgomery High School pupil, who would now be 21, disappeared just months after her mother died of cancer.
